Lydia's story

Lydia N. is 20 years old and lives in the town of Mukono in the Mukono region of Uganda. She is single with no children. Lydia has had a tailoring business for the past two years. She sells clothes. To help expand her business, Lydia has requested a loan of 200,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase materials like fabric. With the help of the loan from BRAC, Lydia hopes to generate greater profits and pay school fees. In the future, Lydia hopes to complete her university degree. Lydia is a member of BRAC’s Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescents (ELA) program, which has helped her prospects for the future by improving on her business.
