Kem's story

Kem N. is a 50-year-old married man, who resides with his wife and three children in Kampong Chnang Province, Cambodia, an area known for palm products. N. and his wife are farmers. Their three children are employed at factories, where they earn an income of approximately $4 per day to help cover the family's living expenses.

Kem explains that he has to spend $50 on food and $16 on other necessary living expenses every month. Kem is now requesting a loan in the amount of $500 to purchase a cow to raise for its offspring. In the future, he would like to use any additional profits generated as a result of the requested loan to repair his family's house.
