A loan of $1,000 helped clothes & Stationery items.

Digna Isabel's story

Digna is 52 years old. She owns a small stationery shop on the outer part of her house. She lives in a canton called Playas, one of the tourist stops in Ecuador with a diverse variety of seafood.

She started as an informal business woman two years ago with a small amount of capital and merchandise. With her earnings, she placed her shop at the front of her house in order to increase her sales. She bought display cabinets, stationery, and drinks to sell to her neighbors. Nowadays, due to her well-known reputation in the area, she works every day from 8am until 8pm.

With this loan, she wants to purchase clothes to sell at her shop. In the future, she hopes to successfully expand her business in order to increase her earnings and be able to pay for her 17 year-old daughter to attend university.
