Tity- Pain Group's story

Pictured here are members of the “Tity Pain” group from Makeni, a city in Northern Sierra Leone. They are businesswomen who have come to SMT, a Kiva partner, seeking a loan of 1,000,000 leones each. With this loan, they will be able to add more goods to their businesses, attract more customers, make more sales and profit, and consequently improve their living conditions.

The leader of this group of entrepreneurs is Sarah M.. Sarah was born in Kabala town. She is 32 years old, married and has two children. Her husband is a police officer and her children are attending primary school. Sarah has been selling drinks, top-up cards for all four mobile networks, and gara lapper (locally dyed cloths) for many years now. She will invest her share of the loan into her business by buying drinks, top-up cards and gara cloths to add to her business.
