A loan of $725 helped a member to buy palm oil, vegetable oil and fish in large quantity.

Tas-Wop N' Sorbeh Group's story

Mrs. Isatu K. (pictured on the left) is the leader of this group of entrepreneurs. Born 45 years ago in one of the villages that makes up Sanda, Isatu is married and has four children. For many years now, Isatu has been selling palm oil (the favorite cooking oil), vegetable oil, fish, etc. Isatu will use her share of the loan (SLL 800,000) to expand her business. She will buy palm oil, vegetable oil and fish in large quantity.

This is not the first loan that Isatu and her group members have applied for from SMT/Kiva lenders. With the help of this new loan however, they will be able to further expand their businesses, make more sales and consequently improve their living conditions.

(Attached to this photo is a snapshot of a borrower, Fatu K., who was not able to be present for the group photo).
