Tamemsu Group's story

In the photo are members of the “Tamemsu” group. They are small-scale businesspeople based in Masorie village, in northern Sierra Leone. They are seeking for a loan of SLL 700,000 for each. With this loan, they will be able to expand their businesses, make more profit and, consequently, improve their standard of living.

The leader of this group is Jatu S.. Jatu is age 30. She was born in Nahothi village. She is married to a farmer and the couple has four children who are attending both primary and secondary schools, respectively.

Jatu is a businesswoman and a farmer. She has been doing business for 15 years now. She wants this loan in order to invest in her business. She will buy rice, groundnuts, palm oil and “bennine” in larger quantities to sell.
