A loan of $325 helped working capital.

Maribel Arcadia's story

Maribel is 47 years old and has a small food sales business located in her humble home, from which she sells a great variety of dishes to her customers. Her mother was previously in charge of the business but over time, she decided that Maribel should have it to support her three young children. It has been difficult to maintain the business and she has had it for 15 years. She works from very early until it is dark selling drinks, gallo pinto (a typical Nicaraguan dish made of rice and beans mixed together), plantains, roasted beef, fried plantain, and cheese, among other delicious dishes. With the loan, she wants to buy rice, sugar, vegetables and drinks. In the future, she wants to improve her home’s exterior to give it to one of her children.
