A loan of $500 helped purchase of corn, meat, cheese, and, and drinks.

Dora Elizabeth's story

Dora is a storekeeper. She's 42-years-old and lives in the city of San Miguel with her husband and two children, David (16-years-old), and Vanessa (14-years-old). She has a pupusa (Central American pastry filled with meat) stand in the municipal parking lot, where all the bus lines from the surrounding towns converge. This is a strategic place to sell food because it's the typical dish of El Salvador and everyone eats it. She needs a loan to buy corn, meat, cheese, and drinks. She'll use the money to make more pupusas to meet the demand of her customers. Her goal is to maintain this business for many years to help with her family's income and to help her children develop.
