A loan of $1,200 helped wood.

Leon Isaias's story

León is 54 years old and has a cabinetmaking workshop. He has five children with his wife, and lives in a canton called Playas, one of the touristic areas of Ecuador famous for seafood.

Before becoming a cabinetmaker and having his own business, he was a mason for the city of Guayaquil. On one of his jobs, he was contracted to make furniture, and he began to like the profession when he made his first piece by himself. When he and his family moved to Playas, he decided that he would have a furniture workshop in the back of his house. Little by little with effort he was able to work with the help of his children and some friends. He works from 7am to 6pm every day. He makes all types of furniture, like closets, doors, living room furniture, wooden windows, etc.

With this loan, he wants to buy wood in order to make furniture for contracts he has with companies. In the future he wants to build a house for his whole family to live in and to expand his woodshop in another location.
