A loan of $1,900 helped a member to purchase a bundle of secondhand clothing to resell at profit.

Aurore Plus Group's story

Jiji has been selling secondhand clothing since 1992. She started her business selling pagnes (women’s wrap clothing). Over the years, her business has prospered with her determination and hard work, and she has been able to build a loyal customer base that has stabilized her business. With good management and savings, Jiji has been able to increase her working capital. She sells at the market in the western area of Kinshasa and her business makes $100 per week. She is confident in her business and she is determined to be a secondhand clothing importer someday – a provider in DRC in general and Kinshasa in particular.

Jiji is 42 years old, married and has six children between the ages of 3 and 21. Three of them go to school.
