Chhen's story

Chhen K., 30, is married and resides with her husband and four children in Takeo Province, Cambodia, an area known for Pre-Angkorean temples. K. is a farmer, earning an income of USD 2 per day. Her husband sells sand, earning an income of about USD 5 per day. The family has to spend USD 50 on food, USD 5 on electricity, and USD 20 on other necessary expenses every month. K. is requesting a loan of USD 1200 to purchase more sand to resell. In the future, she would like to use any additional profit to repair her house. This is her first loan from CREDIT, a long-standing Kiva partner in Cambodia.
