A loan of $4,400 helped a member increase stock of charcoal.

Mrangirangi Group's story

Esther A. is in her late fifties and is married with three children. Since 1997, Esther has been running a charcoal business. The shop is open daily between 6 am and 6:30 pm and earns Esther a good monthly profit.

This will be Esther's 8th loan with Tujijenge Tanzania. Esther's previous loans were all used to increase her supplies of charcoal. These loans have all been successfully repaid. Esther aims to use her 8th loan to once again increase her stock of charcoal.

Esther will share this loan with her loan group Mrangirangi, which totals 17 members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for repaying the loans.
