A loan of $725 helped buy fertilizer and hire workers to help her with her crops.

Mardonia's story

Mardonia is 37 years old and is a young, single woman who is dedicated to her work. She lives in her own house located in the town of Chachunayo. Despite her age, Mardonia is not daunted by not having family by her side and, like a modern woman, thinks about progressing and getting ahead without the help of anyone because she knows well that hard work comes from much sacrifice. Since she was a little girl, she was taught to cultivate farm land. Now she has her own land and there she sows maize and potato which she later sells in the central market in her area. However, she is not only dedicated to agriculture. She also has a small grocery store where she supplies basic necessities to townspeople. In the future, she wishes to expand and open a grocery store in the city and sell her products at wholesale. This is the ninth loan with MFP and she is happy to belong to her community bank since her goal is to progress and triumph. With this loan, she will obtain fertilizer for her harvest and at the same time invest some of the money in hiring workers to help her take care of her crops.
