A loan of $1,000 helped buying fabric, thread and buttons to make clothing.

Sofía Inés's story

Sofía Inés F. D. C. is 55 years old. She lives only with her husband in the Department of La Unión. Sofía has a tailoring workshop, where she makes and sells smocks and dresses for children, ponchos for adults and clothing for men and women. She sells them by visiting various offices, where she offers them to the employees of the place. Some people place orders with her, which is very good for Sofía, since it means that some of the garments she makes represent guaranteed profits. She also sells her products from her home, to her friends and neighbors. Sofía is requesting a loan so that she can buy fabrics, thread, buttons and other items which are necessary to make the clothing she sells. This will permit her to achieve higher sales and thus improve her business and the stability of her household.
