A loan of $1,075 helped to buy potato seeds and bags of organic fertilizer.

Felix's story

Felix, 63, is a mischievous single man who lives with his 52 year-old sister Eutemia in his own home, located in the town of Progreso. In spite of his age, he is a strong man with a strong desire to live. He has been farming ever since he was a child, when he learned to cultivate and harvest the crops. Despite having no family, he does not feel alone, since to support his sister in the upbringing of her children is the greatest gift that life could have given him. It was for them that he began to invest in agriculture, sowing corn, peas and potatoes. Time and experience taught him to sell his harvested crops in the central market in his city. There he widened his view and expanded his goals to include buying clothing to sell in the central rain forest, where, according to him, "in this part of the country there is not much variety of clothing, so it is an opportunity to generate profits." This is his 10th loan with MFP, and he is grateful for the years of support, and for the successes and rewards that he has obtained thanks to his communal bank. With the loan he requests, he will buy organic fertilizer and potato seeds, since he is now ready to plant.
