Lanaya Group
In this Group: Aicha , Chata, Sogona , Fatoumata , Nana Kadia
The five members of the Lanaya group are all married, average 35 years of age and have on average three children each. Most of them live in monogamous families in Sanoubougou 1, one of the districts of the town of Sikasso (Mali's third administrative region).

They are on their second loan from the microfinance institution, Soro Yiriwaso, with the goal of satisfying customer demand. The previous loan has been repaid in full. This group of women buy and sell beauty products (this is the case for Aicha C.), soap, shoes and peanuts.

With her loan Aicha C. is planning on buying two cartons of beauty products. She gets her supplies at the large market and sells them walking around the town. She also sells her products with her family to a customer base made up of men and women, for cash.

She is expecting to make an average monthly profit of 50,000FCFA, of which part will be used for daily expenses.

Les Cinq membres du groupe LANAYA sont toutes des femmes mariées avec une moyenne d’âge de 35 ans, et ont en moyenne 3 enfants. Elles vivent la plupart dans des familles monogames à SANOUBOUGOU I un des quartiers de la ville de Sikasso (3ème région administrative du Mali).
Elles sont à leur deuxième collaboration avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso afin de satisfaire le besoin de leur clientèle, le prêt précédent à été bien remboursé. Ce groupe de femmes fait l’achat vente de produits de beauté avec AICHA C., du savon, des chaussures et de l‘arachide.
AICHA C. compte acheter avec son prêt 2 cartons de produits de beauté
Elle s’approvisionne au grand marché et les vend de façon ambulante en ville .
Les produits sont vendus aussi en famille à une clientèle composée d’hommes et de femmes au comptant.
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel moyen de 50.000 FCFA qui sera utilisée dans les dépenses de la famille.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
