A loan of $550 helped to buy fish to process and sell as dried and salted fish.

Juana's story

Juana is a 65 year old widow. She lives with one of her children in the San José fishing district. This district is a fishing zone, which belongs to the Lambayeque province. It is located 20 minutes from the city of Chiclayo. She has been processing and selling dried and salted fish for ten years. She gets the fish from local fishermen or she goes to the area’s fish terminal. Then she processes it and lets it dry. She later sells it to the main markets in the area. The business allows her to feel active, and it helps support her family. She always puts forth all of her efforts in order to get her family ahead. Juana wishes to expand her business by purchasing more fresh fish. This way she will be able to process more fish and get greater income from her sales. That is why she believes it is advisable to request a loan for 1,500 soles from Edpyme Alternativa. Juana is known to be a very hard working and responsible woman. She has previously worked with Edpyme Alternative, and she has demonstrated herself to be punctual and responsible with her payments.
