A loan of $1,050 helped to buy fish.

Teresa Bernardina's story

The Cristo Rey Communal Bank meets every 15 days. This area is known for its cultural traditions and for being a few minutes from two of the best beaches in the San Jacinto and San Clemente provinces.

Teresa is 42 years old and married. She has three adult children, and one of them lives with her. Her husband is a merchant.

She and her husband sell seafood. While she sells her products in the area, he travels to the outskirts of the city on his motorcycle. He also sells in the city of Tosagua. They work every day from 5:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. They buy their products in Crucita. There is a greater quantity of fish there, and it is nearby.

She will use the loan to buy fish to sell. She has been in the communal bank for four years. She likes it because the payments are agreeable.

Her dream is to buy a car so that she can accompany her husband on his trips.
