Try Us Group's story

Pictured here are members of the “Try Us” group. They are small-scale businesspeople from the township of Magburaka, in northern Sierra Leone. They are seeking a loan of SLL 500,000 for each to enable them to further expand their businesses. Consequently, they will make more profit and improve their living conditions.

The leader of this group is Sulaiman K.. Sulaiman is aged fifty-two and was born in Magburaka town. He is married with ten children. His wife is a businesswoman and seven of his children are attending primary school. For twelve years now, Sulaiman has been selling shoes, clothes, vests, rice and palm oil. With this loan, he will expand his business by buying the above-mentioned items in large quantity.
