A loan of $3,750 helped a member to get supplies for her van.

Raggal Yalla Group's story

The Raggal Yalla solidarity group was set up the day before the opening of the Banc Villageois in Keur Serigne Louga Sud on 27th September 2009. It is made up of 22 women who all live in the same neighborhood, and who are all friends or neighbors with the same interest of developing local business.

Mrs. Ndawa S., who is standing on the far right of the photo is in charge of the group. She is 40 years old, married and mother to seven children, as well as being guardian to two other children (a niece and nephew).

She has a van at the central market in her neighborhood, from which she sells various food products and clothing. Her new loan will allow her to strengthen her capacity to stock up with goods in order to increase her profit margin.

Her goal is to help her husband to improve the family's living conditions, in terms of food and health for example.

In this group: Ndawa, Ngane, Aby, Awa, Dieynaba, Khady, Ousseynou, Nogaye, Ngone, Daba, Marame, Fatou, Soda, Rama, Maguette, Fama, Fatou, Ndeye Diagne, Fama, Fatou Khadim, Fama Bou Mag, Khady
