A loan of $725 helped bUYING PEA SEEDS TO PLANT IN HER FIELDS.

Maria's story

Maria, 52 years old, is a very simple and hard-working woman who lives in her own house with her 2 minor daughters for whom she wishes to provide a better life. The beautiful fields of Villa Visca (a town in the province of Tarma), have always been a part of Maria's life. She has seen it grow since she was very small and her parents taught her to work on the farm, and now she has her own lands on which she has worked with much pride and sacrifice since forming her own family. What Maria likes most about her work is cultivating peas, potatoes and maize. For 27 years she has been doing this. She considers the most difficult task to be transporting her harvest to market in Tarma. In time, Maria hopes to establish a small post in the market, since she believes she is losing much by selling her products at wholesale. This is Maria's 6th loan with MFP, and she is certain that she can take on responsibility for making all her payments punctually and she is disposed to do so. Within her communal bank, Maria is always in compliance with all the decisions they make. With the 2,000 new sols she solicits, Maria will purchase pea seeds, since this legume is selling very well in the market.
