A loan of $1,075 helped to buy sacks of manure.

Hilda's story

Hilda, 28, is a very hard working mother. She lives in a rented house with her husband, Teófilo, 32, and their two beloved children for whom she wants to provide a better future. With much effort Hilda has been managing to make her fields more productive. She grows potato and corn which she then sells in Tarma’s wholesale market where she sells them at wholesale. Her crops have provided income necessary to support her family. This is why she wants to continue to put everything into having her business succeed. What she likes best about her work is caring for the crops. She has been a farmer for 9 years and considers the most difficult part having to transport the products all the way to Tarma because the sacks she carries are very heavy and they tire her out. In the future she’d like to lease a stand in the wholesale market in order to improve her income. This is her 8th loan with MFP. She has been very punctual with her previous loans and is always aware of her group’s decisions. She will use the requested 3000 new soles to buy more manure that she expects will improve her crops.
