Vicenta Emperatriz's story

Vicenta, 51 years of age, lives in the outskirts of Duran de Guayaquil known for it's community and natural resources. She owns a grocery store and sells rice.

Vicenta began her business when her husband lost his job and they needed money to support their children. She began by buying and selling rice per pound and then gradually she sold rice by the hundredweight (100 kilograms). Then, after having enough capital, she bought enough to run a grocery store! With this loan, she wants to buy enough rice to have enough for her customers. In the future, she wants to buy a car and become a distributor of rice around Guayaquil and in turn ensure her home's economy.
