Rosa's story

Rosa, 72 years old, is the mother of a very hard-working family. She lives in her own house with her husband and her three children. She works selling used appliances. She starts by purchasing used and damaged appliances, then her husband determines which parts should be replaced, and then does the repairs so they can be resold. She has been working in this business for 15 years, and what she enjoys most is the communication and contact with her customers. However, what troubles her is not having a fixed location, because she is constantly being moved by the local police from wherever she is situated. She is happy to sell these used appliances at reasonable prices, so people in all economic situations can buy them. In the future she hopes to rent a location within the market, or change careers and sell clothes. This is her 33rd loan from MFP, she understands that she must make her payments on time, and is committed to doing so, as she doesn't want to harm her communal bank, where she is well liked by the other members. With the funds she is requesting, she will purchase parts for blenders, as well as toys and clothes to start another business, and take advantage of the holiday season.
