Cornelia's story

Cornelia belongs to “Los Rosales de Saylla” (The Rose Bushes of Saylla) communal bank, situated in the district of Saylla, Cusco province, department of Cusco. Cornelia is 38 years old, living with a companion, and has 2 children. She is dedicated to agriculture as a principal source of income, and she also raises small fowl (chickens, etc.). And she rents land to farm in planting season. She needs to rent land to sow corn, and for this she needs to borrow money to hire a tractor for plowing, and to buy seeds and fertilizer; and, later, for irrigating the fields. Cornelia requests a loan to invest in land rental. Cornelia appreciates and values the loan provided by this source and in the same manner, she promises to comply with the payments on schedule.
