A loan of $725 helped to stock up on chickens.

María's story

María, age 50, is a very jovial mother. She lives in her own house with her husband and her youngest daughter. Her daughter is the motivation for all of her efforts.

From a very early age María worked helping her mother sell chickens. In time, her mother traveled abroad leaving María in charge of the business. Her work starts very early in the morning when she gets the chickens from her provider. At 8:00 in the morning she starts her work day of kindly waiting on her customers. Most of her customers are housewives. What she likes most about her work is the pleasant conversations she has with her customers. She has been doing this for over 36 years.

She hopes to buy a truck for her business to start distributing chickens to various sales locations. This is her 25th loan with MFP. She knows that if she pays on time she will be able to access another loan for a larger amount.

She is a very responsible person with her communal bank. She is admired and respected by the other members. She will use the requested loan to buy more merchandise. She will stock more chickens in order to increase her earnings.
