A loan of $725 helped purchase ingredients to expand business selling food in the market.

Francisca's story

Francisca is 54 years old, married and lives with her husband and their three children in the hamlet of Nuevo Yapato, district of Tambogrande, an agricultural area that mainly produces lemons and mango. It is in the province of Piura, in the region of the same name, and is more than three and a half hours from the city of Chiclayo, the capital of the Lambayeque region. Francisca has a business selling food. She prepares diverse meals and sells them at the market in the city of Sullana, located a half hour from where she lives. She tends to her customers every day, and thanks to the time she has spent with the business she now has a group of loyal customers who prefer her business because of its tasty seasonings and her good customer service. Her husband makes a living as a fisherman, and together they work hard to make headway for their children. Francisca is thinking about expanding her business by buying more ingredients that will allow her to prepare more meals and thus increase her sales. In order to achieve this objective she is requesting a loan of 2000 soles from Kiva partner Edpyme Alternativa. Francisca is a hard-working woman who is always looking out for her family. She has previously worked with Edpyme Alternativa and has shown herself to be punctual and responsible.
