A loan of $550 helped to buy wool, paint and corrospum (micro-porous plastic-like material of different colors).

Elizabeth's story

Elizabeth, 48, is single and lives in her mother’s house. During the morning she works as a teacher at a national school which is an hour away from home. In the afternoon she makes various teaching aids that are very useful for her students and coworkers. The material she uses most is corrospum (micro-porous plastic-like material of different colors) because it’s very malleable for making shapes and designs.

One of the advantages she has in this business is that most of her coworkers help her with sales offering the items to their students or to people beyond the educational institution. She enjoys her work very much so she is always coloring and cutting the corrospum; only thus can she meet the demand of students in various grades. She has been doing this work for 3 years and hopes to learn more painting techniques; she’d also like to be proficient in oil painting.

This is her 25th loan with MFP and she commits to being very punctual with her repayments. She will use the requested funds to buy corrospum, wool in a variety of colors and paints in general so that she can give better finishings to her teaching aids.
