María Yanira's story

María Yanira L. D. B., 40, is a very hard working, dedicated woman who lives with her husband and two minor children in Aguilares, San Salvador department.

María works in her own tortilla shop making tortillas from Monday through Sunday in order to proviD. her husband with all the help he needs to meet household expenses. María makes tortillas that she then sells from home and that her children take to the various neighborhoods to sell. This provides extra income that is of great benefit to the family.

María is asking for funds to buy corn at wholesale so that she can make a greater amount of tortillas because they are in high demand in this country because they are basic to the Salvadoran diet.
