A loan of $450 helped purchase passion fruits, apples, and cherimoyas.

Berta's story

Berta is in a common law marriage and has four children who are in school. She travels to the regional fairs to sell fruit. In addition, Berta sells at the door of a school in Tambillos where she also offers candy. She also manages a stand at the April 12th Market where she sells fruits.

Berta is a member of the Tarpuy Communal Bank and needs a loan of 1200 PEN so that she can invest in the purchase of passion fruits, apples, and cherimoyas (also known as “custard apples”). Her dreams include seeing her children get ahead and adding a second floor to her house.
