A loan of $500 helped to expand his services by opening another barber shop.


Githinji's story

Githinji K., 41 years old, is married to Ruth Mukonyo. They live in Dandora, just few kilometers from Nairobi City, where most of his customers are low- and middle-income earners. He operates a barber shop and this he has been doing for 17 years with a profit of Kshs 15,000. He also offers a Bible binding service which is an additional source of income.

He has borrowed from other MFI and was introduced to KADET LTD by a friend. Now he is applying for his second loan of Kshs. 40,000 to expand his services by opening another barber shop in a different place. He desires to grow his business and hopes to install a kerosene pump in the near future.
