A loan of $1,000 helped purchase of small pigs for sale.

Jenny Marisol's story

In Manabí province we find the 24 de Mayo canton [subdivision]. It is here that the San José Communal Bank meets every fifteen days. The canton is known for its beautiful landscapes and hard working people, dedicated to agriculture and animal husbandry.

Jenny is 35 years old and has been married for 20 years. She has four children, one is an adult in university. The younger children are still in high school, which is a heavy burden on Jenny and her husband, who is a driver transporting private goods. This is why a few years ago she decided to sell AVON products (beauty products, perfume and miscellaneous items). Every evening she advertises her products and takes orders. She accepts credit and charges every fifteen days, during which she takes the opportunity to again showcase her products.

Now she has decided to dedicate herself to raising pigs, which is why she wants this loan. She wants to buy small pigs to raise until they reach a reasonable weight, then she will sell them.

Jenny has been in San José Communal Bank since the beginning, she is a founding member and has always liked the chats that help her a lot in her daily life. Her goals are that her children become professionals and that she comes out ahead in her businesses.
