A loan of $750 helped a member to buy fresh seasonal vegetables for re-sale.

Asia Khurram's Group's story

Asia is a resident of Siddiq Akbar town which is a housing colony located in Faisalabad. Faisalabad is Pakistan’s third largest city and is well known for its textile industry. Her home is a small one of two rooms. She shifted there 10 years ago with her family. Asia is a 55-year-old housewife. It is difficult to work at such an old age which is why she stays at home and manages the household chores. She is the mother of three sons who work and help their father in his vegetable selling business.

Asia has applied for a loan from Kiva's partner, Asasah, for her husband’s vegetable selling business. With the loan amount, he will buy fresh seasonal vegetables to sell through his vegetable shop in the market. She is hopeful that with the loan investment her husband’s business will grow which will have a positive impact on his business and improve the family's standard of living. She is a new borrower from Asasah and this is her first loan application. She expects that it will be a good experience for her and her family as well.
