A loan of $900 helped purchase of banana plants and fertilizer.

Dora's story

Dora is a happy, good person. She lives with her children in the central jungle of the town of Cahuide. As a child she learned to farm bananas, an activity that has helped her a lot. When she started her own family, Dora acquired a small piece of land to plant bananas and coffee. They are reliable and hardy crops that generate good profits; this has allowed her to educate and provide for her family.

Dora travels constantly to the city to sell her products in the local market, where coffee is in high demand and generates better income. What Dora enjoys most is to be able to spend most of her time with her children, who already have their own farms and work together to build better lives. Soon, Dora will be able to buy a computer to start a typing business.

This is her third loan with MFP and Dora is grateful to all the members of her community bank, who have made it possible for her to succeed. With this loan, Dora will purchase "seda" and "isla" variety baN. plants and fertilizer for her coffee plants.
