Isabel Cristina's story

Isabel Cristina Teherán B. lives in the Nelson Mandela neighborhood of the city of Cartagena in the department of Bolívar. She and her husband have the service business “fumigaciones Nelson González” (Nelson González Fumigacion). They began the business out of their home in their neighborhood four years ago, and now it has extended throughout the city and is gradually gaining recognition. Her husband, seen in the photograph with Isabel, is in charge of door-to-door visits, and she is charged with administration.

This is their second loan with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, with which they have been involved for a year. They want to obtain new working capital with the financing.

Isabel states that they have two fumigation tanks and one motorized pump for fumigation. With their loan they hope to repair the pump, which lately hasn’t been working well, so that it is 100% functional. They will also buy materials that they will use on each job. Their main challenge is having a place where they can conduct their business which has the certifications required to carry out their activities, which they are processing.
