Rabia's Group's story

Rabia lives in a small city of Punjab called Kausr, famous in Pakistan for its leather industry. She is 27 years old, divorced and doesn’t have children. She lives in a three-room brick house with her brothers. She keeps herself busy making embroidered clothes for her neighboring clients. She is a skillful lady. She knows different embroidery techniques and applies those techniques on clothes to give them a new look. She receives regular orders due to the quality of work. Both her brothers adopted the embroidery work as a profession just like their sister Rabia. They have their own shop in the market where they receive regular orders and complete embroidered dresses to earn their income.

Rabia has applied for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah for her embroidery business. With the loan, she will buy embroidery items such as clothes, beads, sketches and colored thread in bulk and makes embroidered dresses to sell to different shops to earn a living. She is a new client of Asasah and is hopeful that it will be a profitable experience for her.
