Roberto's story

Roberto A. is from the village of Brgy. Munguia, Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya. He is 48 years old. Roberto is married and has five school-aged children. To make a living, Roberto owns & operates a business planting and harvesting rice for sale. Roberto has been engaged in his business for over 25 years and earns approximately 40,000 during harvest season. Roberto said that his earnings in the activities help him a lot in supporting the educational needs of his children.

In 2009, Roberto joined ASKI to gain access to financial services to help improve his living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Roberto has successfully repaid a previous loan of 13,000 PHP from ASKI. This previous loan was used to pay for services to increase crop yield. Roberto is requesting a new loan of 13,000 PHP, which will be used to purchase manure and pesticides. This loan will be the third loan taken out by Roberto from ASKI. He plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to pay the tuition fees of his children.
