Emmanuel is a 26-year-old man living in Fort Portal, Uganda. He is married and has one child aged one year. He looks after the welfare of three people with whom he lives with in a semi-permanent house. He operates a retail shop and is also a farmer. He has been operating his retail shop for the last two years. He hopes to see his retail shop transform into a wholesale shop one day for bigger sales and profit margin.

For now though, Emmanuel is concentrating on the farmland he has to cultivate and getting better yields this season. He intends to use the loan funds to buy bean seedlings and pay labor for tilling the land for planting.
