A. Cathérine's story

Cathérine A. A. was born in 1963, in Adjohoun in the department of Ouémé, Benin. For the last thirty years or so, Cathérine has lived in Agbodjèdo, an area of Cotonou, Benin's economic capital.

Cathérine is married to Augustin Dossou and is the mother of four children, all of whom have received schooling. Cathérine lives with her husband and children, and the couple share the various household responsibilities. Cathérine did not go to school.

For the last twenty years or so, Cathérine has been selling various products (canned tomatoes, sardines, milk, pasta, palm oil, various condiments for sauces (onions, fresh tomatoes, peppers, spices, etc.), etc.) as well as corn, from her home. She obtains her supplies at Dantokpa, Benin's international market. Cathérine is a former ALIDé client, having already benefited from 5 loans which have all been fully repaid. To meet the demands of her growing number of customers, Cathérine wants to increase her activity and better satisfy her customers. That is why she is requesting another loan.
