Musharaf's Group
In this Group: Musharaf , Naseem, Nasira, Naseem , Rafia
Musharaf lives with her husband and 2 sons in the second largest city in Pakistan, called Lahore. She owns a house in the area named Mughalpura where she shifted after her marriage.

She is a very caring and supportive lady by nature. She performs her duties as a housewife and also handles her sewing business. She tries to have a balanced life by giving the required time to her family and her work. She sews clothes for her neighbors and earns a good amount from them. In this way she can share the financial burden with her husband.

Her husband owns & operates a milk-selling business. He gets milk from his buffalo and sells to different milk shops for profit. He has been doing this for the past 5 years.

Both her sons also contribute financially by doing different work. Her elder son works in a private company on a monthly wage while the younger one runs a barber shop.

Musharaf has applied for a loan from Kiva partner, Asasah, for her husband’s business. With the loan, her husband will buy another buffalo to increase sales. She hopes that, with the additional buffalo, her husband will have a better financial outcome and that soon he will open his own shop in the market where he can sell milk to his own customers.

Musharat is a regular loan user of Asasah and is in her 2nd loan cycle. In previous loan years she has proved herself a responsible person who has never missed a meeting and has paid her installments on time.

Note: “In the picture, the lady who is raising her hand is Musharaf”.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
