Tanenkasu Ii Group's story

Pictured here are members of the “Tanenkasu II” group from Magburaka, a town in northern Sierra Leone. They are petty-businesspeople who have come to SMT, a partner of Kiva, to seek a loan of SLL 800,000 for each member of the group. With this loan, they will be able to add more goods to their businesses, attract more customers, make more sales and profit and, consequently, improve their living conditions.

The leader of this group of entrepreneurs is Mohamed S. who is pictured in the middle. Mohamed was born in Magburaka town. He is 37 years old. Mohamed is married and has five children. His wife is a businesswoman. Three of his children attend primary school and one is in secondary school. Mohamed S. sells boards, bed, chairs, etc. With his share of this loan, he will buy the above-mentioned items in large quantity to add to his business.
