Soro Yiriwa Group's story

These four married women are members of the Soro Yiriwa group and are on average 43 years old with 4 children. The are mostly from monogamous families and live in Medine, one of the neighbourhoods of Sikasso. (Third administrative region of Mali). This will be their seventh business loan with the Soro Yiriwasso microfinance institution.

This group of women buy and sell fruits and vegetables, pagnes wax (wax dyed decorative cloth) and various other women's articles. Mariam S. plans to buy 50 pieces of pagnes wax. She buys supplies from the major market in Bamako and sells her products in the large market is Sikasso in both bulk or as individual items, for cash or credit to a clientele made up of both men and women.

She plans to earn a monthly profit of 75,000 Francs CFA and a part will be used to help support her husband meet the daily expenses and part to be reinvested back into her business.
