Teresiah's story

Teresiah F. M. is twenty one years old, single and does not have any children. Her business is located at Jua Kali market in Nairobi. She makes and sells cookers, sauce pans, metal boxes etc to the local people from within the industrial area and also customers coming from afar like Machakos, Isiolo and Narok.

She has been doing this business for the last thirteen months and she says that this business is profitable. The major challenge that Teresiah has is lack of raw materials to make her end products and the fact that customers are not loyal since there are other people in the area doing the same business as hers. However, she works very hard from early morning to late evening to keep her business doing well. She is using her loan of Kes 50,000 to buy more scrap metal for making more items to sell and grow her business. She hopes to grow her business, become a millionaire and help other people. She describes herself as active, God fearing and goal-oriented.
