Camino Al Cielo Group's story

The Camino al Cielo solidarity group consists of Ana María Garmendia H., Johana del Socorro F. García and Azucena del Carmen M..

Ana makes Nacatamales (Nicaraguan corn tamales, that are larger with more filling than Mexican tamales) every Friday; she started her business 13 years ago with few sales. Today, she makes 2 or 3 times as many products as she did when she first started. Johana opened a small store in her home 4 months ago. Just 23 years old, this is her first venture into business. Azucena sells poultry, meat and sodas. It has been more than a year since she left her job as a domestic helper to start her own business.
