Kory Chuyma Group's story

"Kory Chuymas" is the name of the community association that is about to start its ninth cycle in the Santiago II center. Their name has origins in Aymara, a native language of the Andean area and means "Heart of Gold." 14 women are members of this association.

The president is Mrs. Remedios. She has worked for two years with "Pro Mujer". Her business is selling aprons. The aprons are made by her and she sells them in different markets on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon. Her business has grown. She notes that her first loan was for Bs. 1000 and currently she is requesting Bs. 5500. This money has been and will be used to purchase fabric. She learned this business from a friend twenty years ago.

With respect to the businesses in the association, they are varied. Among them we have: selling baby clothing, neighborhood shop, selling food, selling clothing, selling cosmetics, a fruit stand, painted fabric, woven rugs, making tablecloths, a cafeteria, selling salchipapas (hot dogs), selling pasankalla (a sweet dish).
