Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $500 helped buy clothes.

Maria Angelica's story

María is 24 years old, and she lives in the city of San Miguel with her seven year old son. She has her own house. She has been selling clothes for five years. She started working as an employee of a clothing business. Later, she started as the owner of her own place.

She is requesting a loan to buy the current styles and the fashions in order to attract more customers. She wants to buy blouses, shorts, and pants. These are the garments that are sold the most. With this loan she will buy in larger quantities, which gives her the opportunity to get better prices.

She wants to grow and to establish a good number of customers. She also wants to increase her sales and improve the living conditions for herself and her son.
