The women of the Benkan group are all married with four children, are 31 years old and live in large traditional families in the village of Marka-Counga, in the municipality of Fana, in the Koulikoro region (the second largest administrative region of the Republic of Mali). They met through friends and family and sell clothes, milk and beans. They are on their fourth loan. Bata D. is a group member and aims to use the loan in order to buy clothes for men and women of all ages. She sources her goods from Bamako through wholesalers and sells her wares at the Marka-Coungo market for cash or credit to a customer base made up of men and women. She aims to generate an average monthly profit of 50,000 FCFA which will be used to see to her family's everyday needs and the rest will be reinvested in the business.

Les femmes du groupe Benkan, toutes mariées, ont en moyenne 31 ans, 4 enfants et vivent toutes dans des familles traditionnelles élargies dans le village de Marka-coungo, sous préfecture de Fana, région de Koulikoro (deuxième région administrative de la république du Mali).
Elles se sont connues à travers des liens de parenté et de voisinage et font le commerce, d’habits, de lait et du haricot. Elles sont quatrième prêt solidaire.
BATA D. du groupe Benkan compte utiliser son prêt pour acheter des habillements pour homme et femme et de tous âges.
Elle s’approvisionne en marchandises le plus généralement à Bamako avec les grossistes du marché et effectue sa vente sur place, au marché de Marka-coungo, au comptant et à crédit, à une clientèle composée de femmes et d’hommes.
Elle compte réaliser un bénéfice moyen mensuel de 50000FCFA qui sera utilisé dans les dépenses quotidiennes de la famille et le reste sera réinvesti dans les activités de commerce.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
