Sabougnouman Group's story

The women of the Sabougnouman group are all married with three children, are around 42 years old and live in large extended families in the village of Marka-Coungo in the municipality of Fana, the Koulikoro region (the second largest administrative region of the Republic of Mali). They met through friends and family, and are involved in foodsales and selling clothes, milk and other items. These women are on their 8th loan. Mariam Moussa C., a member of the group, aims to use her loan in order to purchase several items.
She generally sources her goods from the wholesalers in her town and from Bamako, and she sells her goods from her home for cash or credit to a customer base made up of men and women.
She aims to generate an average monthly profit of 75,000 FCFA which will be used to meet her family's needs, and the rest will be reinvested in the business.
