Julio Alfonso

A loan of $1,000 helped to buy rice and sugar.

Julio Alfonso's story

Julio is 26 years old and sells bread in the streets of Paraíso. He lives in the semi-urban zone of Paraíso de Guayaquil, which is known for its dirt roads and mountains.

He started his business six years ago, when he discovered the ability he had for making bread. Little by little, he began to work to sustain his family. Now he works distributing bread from 6:00AM until 2:00PM, and after he works until 9:00PM making bread for the following day.

He would like to use this loan to buy food supplies like rice, sugar, and flour, in order to set up a small store and thereby ensure the future for his wife, who is now pregnant. In the future, he would like to fix up the location.
