A loan of $800 helped buy a plot of farmland to grow rice.

Mom's story

Mom A., 47, is married and resides with her husband and four children in Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia, an area known for rubber plantations. A. is employed as a garment factory worker for an income of $5 per day. Her husband is a construction worker, earning an income of $4 per day. Every month the family has to spend $61 on food, $5 on electricity, $15 on their children's education and $5 on transportation.

A. is requesting a loan of $800 to purchase a plot of farmland to grow rice for the family's use. In the future, she would like to use any additional profit to repair her house. This is her first loan from CREDIT, a long-standing Kiva partner in Cambodia.
